Adolescence is the most complicated stage of life, both for the teenager himself or for fathers and mothers who have young teenagers. During this period, children tend to take on new responsibilities and learn to be independent. This is also the right time for teenagers to be more responsible for their reproductive health.
Basically, knowledge of reproductive health must be owned by teenagers. Not only how to maintain the health and function of reproductive organs, but also to avoid teenagers from doing things that deviate. For this reason, correct and appropriate news is needed in discussing and educating this organ.
Things to Educate About Adolescent Reproduction
Mothers need to have the right knowledge about the implementation of reproduction and how to maintain their health in adolescents. In this way, teenagers are expected to be able to take responsibility for their own bodies. Especially about how reproduction works, so that he can be empowered before doing things that are detrimental to himself.
Fathers and mothers need to know that knowledge about reproduction is not only for young women. Little men even need to know and understand how to live with healthy reproduction. Miscommunication in the aftermath can have a detrimental effect on teenage boys as well. So, how to educate what needs to be known about reproduction in adolescents?
1. Explain the Method, Work, and Reproductive Function
Introduce about methods, progress, and functions of reproductive organs. Try to provide information that matches the readiness and age of the baby. It's best to avoid using terms that your baby doesn't understand, because it's feared that the meaning will run away. Apart from that, your little one does not know for sure the reproductive dilemma.
2. Introduce Potential Disease Risks
Introduce what are the risks of spying diseases. This topic should be introduced and introduced to children who are teenagers, especially those who are growing up. If teenagers know what the risks of diseases that may occur, of course, they will be more careful and take better care of their reproductive health.
3. Explain about sexual violence and the system to avoid it
It is important for youth to know about their reproductive rights. In addition, teenagers need to know about sexual violence that may occur, what types it is, and how to prevent it from happening.
The Role of Fathers in Educating Reproductive Health in Adolescents According to the World Health Organization (WHO), adolescents are people aged 12 to 24 years. This period is the transition from childhood to adulthood. That is, the workings of recognition and reproductive knowledge should have started at this time.
Reproduction can be termed as the process of human life in regenerating offspring. It's just that this definition is too common, so that reproduction is considered only a sexual dilemma or intimate kinship. As a result, many parents feel uncomfortable or awkward when discussing this topic with their teenage children. However, in adolescents, reproductive health includes methods, functions, and ways of reproduction.
If there is not enough education related to reproduction for teenagers, this situation can trigger unexpected moments. One of the problems that often occurs due to the lack of socialization and education regarding adolescent reproductive health is the occurrence of sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy at a young age, to abortion which has an impact on the loss of adolescent lives.
The role of parents is very important in educating adolescents about reproductive and sexual health. Especially considering that until now there are still not many people who care about the risks that can attack these "wrongful" teenagers. Spying threats are in the form of HIV/AIDS, the increasing maternal mortality rate due to giving birth at a young age, to the death of teenage girls due to their recklessness to carry out an abortion.
There are still many issues regarding reproductive health that need to be known by parents who have young teenagers.
